J’ai besoin d’un appartement

Let’s keep the French theme going this week shall we? On a recent magazine hoarding trip I discovered this rug in House Beautiful Magazine. From Fort Street Design Studio in New York, this hand knotted wild silk rug is the kind of edgy sophistication that makes me want to wear all black and listen to Edith Pilaf’s Sous le ciel de Paris (I’m a romantic at heart).

One part classic simplicity, one part pop art cool, I envision this in a Paris apartment. Perhaps in fashion designer Erin Fetherston’s pad? Oh la la indeed.

Oh la la It’s enough to make me want to listen to Blossom Dearie and smoke Gitanes atop le tour Eiffel (whilst munching Lauduree macaroons and wearing a beret at a jaunty angle n’est pas)…
