Cameo appearance
When I was studying abroad in Scotland I took a week long trip to London where I visited the famed Portabello Road Market. A holdover from the Victorian Era in beautiful Notting Hill, the market runs for half a mile and is littered with antiques you won’t find anywhere else every Saturday. It’s where I found my first two pieces to my collection (antique pins from from the 1930s) and my love of cameos and silhouette portraits began. Recently I’ve been longing to find new ways to use them in jewelry and home decor.

A gorgeous antique locket I wish I owned from Ruby Lane Antiques.

A while ago Country Living had some wonderful silhouette finds like this collection of china and the wall collage below.
.

Apartment Therapy had a piece on interior designer Stephanie Nielsen who makes her own family portraits in silhouette form. Love it.

Craftsbury Kids will custom make you a necklace of your loved one. Just send in a photo of their silhouette.

I’ve been lusting after this cameo ring from the Colonial Williamsburg Marketplace.
